A wonderful and unrepeatable discovery of high scientific importance detailing a partial fossil Dyrosaurus crocodile vertebrae discovery encasing a gastrolith stone inclusion. The Dyrosaurus is a genus of extinct Crocodylomorphs that lived from the upper Cretaceous to the Eocene period, surviving the K-Pg (Cretaceous-Paleogene) extinction event 65 million years ago. Linked to pholidosaurids as a clade and are defined as slender-snouted, predator specialists that adapted to near-shore marine habitats with long jawed crocodile-like quadrupeds that grew up to 6 metres in length overall. CONDITION
The specimen; has undergone skilled preparation to remove the plaster jacket it was held in to professional extract it from the earth before we prepared and cleaned away the remaining matrix from the entire vertebrae which in turn revealed the specimen intact, and displaying great preservation to the bone tissue with detailed bone texture throughout the vertebrae - attributing many scientific details that transition this specimen in to an aesthetic form of art for palaeontological spaces.
