Introducing Cisco NVIDIA Virtual Compute Server (VCS) — a cutting-edge, subscription-based licensing solution designed to deliver GPU-accelerated virtualization for modern data centers. Tailored for enterprises pursuing AI, machine learning, data analytics, and high-performance computing workloads, this 5-year license provides predictable budgeting, streamlined license management, and dependable performance. With 1 NVIDIA GPU allocated per license, organizations can rapidly provision virtualized compute resources, scale to meet growing demands, and maintain full control over licensing costs. Cisco’s robust integration with NVIDIA’s virtualization technology enables secure, multi-tenant environments, empowering IT teams to deploy, manage, and optimize GPU workloads with confidence while protecting sensitive data and ensuring compliance across the stack. Whether you’re enabling virtual desktops with GPU acceleration, accelerating in-venue AI inference, or powering HPC simulations, VCS helps you extract maximum value from your NVIDIA-enabled hardware and Cisco networking investment.

  • GPU-Accelerated Virtualization — Leverage NVIDIA vCompute capabilities to run AI, ML, and high-performance computing workloads inside virtual machines. A single license provides dedicated GPU access, delivering robust performance for graphics-intensive applications, real-time analytics, and data science pipelines without the overhead of dedicated physical GPUs for every workload.
  • 5-Year Subscription License — A long-term licensing option that simplifies budgeting and procurement. Enjoy predictable cost planning, automatic access to product updates and security fixes during the term, and streamlined renewal processes that minimize downtime and compliance risk.
  • Enterprise-Grade Security & Compliance — Cisco’s secure virtualization framework combined with NVIDIA virtualization technology creates isolated, auditable compute environments. This helps meet enterprise security requirements, data protection standards, and regulatory compliance for sensitive workloads across industries such as finance, healthcare, and government.
  • Simplified Licensing & Deployment — Centralized license management and straightforward activation align with Cisco’s broader data-center ecosystem. The license is designed to integrate smoothly with Cisco hardware and software, reducing administrative overhead and accelerating time-to-value for GPU-accelerated projects.
  • Scalable for AI/ML Workloads — Designed for evolving workloads, VCS supports scaling strategies within the product framework. As compute needs grow, you can optimize GPU utilization, adjust resource allocation, and extend virtualization capabilities to accommodate larger AI training or inference pipelines while maintaining license alignment.

Technical Details of Cisco NVIDIA Virtual Compute Server - Subscription License - 1 GPU - 5 Year

  • License Type: Subscription
  • Term: 5 Years
  • GPU Allocation: 1 x NVIDIA GPU per license
  • Platform: Cisco NVIDIA Virtual Compute Server
  • Intended Use: Virtualized compute for AI/ML, data analytics, and HPC workloads

The NVIDIA Virtual Compute Server license is designed to deliver consistent, predictable performance for GPU-accelerated workloads within Cisco-powered data-center environments. It aligns with enterprise deployment models, offering a balance between licensing simplicity and the flexibility needed to support diverse AI and analytics workflows. For organizations running mixed workloads, VCS provides a robust foundation to consolidate GPU resources under a unified licensing and management framework, reducing fragmentation and enabling tighter governance over GPU usage and cost allocation. While the license specifies one GPU per license, organizations can plan capacity by aggregating licenses to meet multi-workload demands, all while maintaining a streamlined upgrade and renewal path.

How to Install Cisco NVIDIA Virtual Compute Server

To deploy Cisco NVIDIA VCS, begin with a thorough readiness assessment, then follow vendor-recommended steps to activate the license, install the virtualization software, configure the environment, and validate performance. Proper planning ensures optimal GPU sharing, security, and reliability for virtualized AI and analytics workloads. Below is a practical deployment outline to guide your implementation while staying aligned with licensing terms.

  • Verify prerequisites: Confirm compatible Cisco server hardware, supported NVIDIA GPU models, compatible hypervisors or orchestration platforms, and an active 5-year subscription license. Review Cisco’s and NVIDIA’s compatibility matrices to ensure hardware and software versions meet requirements.
  • Activate your license: Access the Cisco/NVIDIA licensing portal or the approved license management interface, and apply the 5-year subscription key to your VCS deployment. Ensure license status shows as active and associated with the correct device or cluster.
  • Install the VCS software: Obtain the official VCS image from the vendor repository and run the installer on your validated Cisco infrastructure. Follow the guided prompts to complete deployment, including configuring vCompute resources and enabling GPU passthrough to virtual machines or containers as supported.
  • Configure networking and security: Integrate VCS with your existing Cisco networking fabric, set up segmentation, access controls, and security policies. Enable features such as role-based access, monitoring, and compliance auditing to protect sensitive workloads.
  • Validate performance and license health: Verify GPU visibility within the host and guest environments, run representative AI/ML benchmarks, and establish monitoring for utilization, licensing status, and expiration alerts to prevent disruption at term end.

During installation, it is important to align configuration with your organization’s governance policies, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans. The VCS deployment should be tested under representative workload conditions to ensure stability, predictable latency, and consistent GPU performance across virtual machines. By following best practices and vendor guidance, you can maximize the value of the 5-year license, minimize runtime issues, and enable a smooth upgrade path when expanding GPU-enabled capabilities in your data center.

Frequently asked questions

Easy to assemble. Still used for over a year 🙌🏾
Color: White, Size: 6 Panel
Everything is perfect! I would buy again in other colors and heights if I need additional separation in the basement.

Cheap Garbage
Color: Black, Size: 4 Panel
This item is just cheap crap. Shoddily put together, shoddy materials, and looks cheap. If you’re just putting it in a space that you don’t really care that it’s cheap, then it might be fine for what you need. But don’t expect much.

Keeps areas separated
Color: Black, Size: 6 Panel
Item arrived quickly. I use this to keep my cats out of a part of the cellar. Works great. They've figured out how to slip through side. I made a panel that covers those spots. Still the best item to keep area separate.

Worth the investment
Size: 1 Panel, Size: 1 Panel
I had to order this in an emergency. To put it in brief words, I live in a two level studio unit. My bedroom TV fell backwards off the bureau accidentally and down the stairs to its demise. Putting this together was no problem, instructions were thorough and easy. It came with several bars that connected together smoothly and an Allen key for the brackets and screws for the feet. I did one less horizontal bar on top and bottom so it could fit, which was great because with all of them on it was too long. However I ran into the difficulty of the horizontal bars popping out of the brackets during the last stages, but eventually got it done. I was also looking for a specific type of divider where I could adjust the feet so I could tuck it in between the dresser and banister. Glad I made this purchase.
