Merlin MJ3800MYQ Commander Ultimate Features
First introduced in 2012, the Merlin Jackshaft series (also known as the “MJ” series), are a particularly unique series of garage door openers for sectional, tilt and panel doors. Traditionally, these kinds of garage doors have been opened via a motor with a pole or C-rail, which requires clear ceiling space that is free from bulkheads or obstructions. Jackshaft motors mount to either the left or right side of the garage door, connected to the garage door’s torsion bar to raise and lower the door. The Merlin MJ3800MYQ Commander Ultimate is the latest entry into the Jackshaft series.
Benefits of this include improved storage space for canoes, bicycles or other large items. You can also use these openers in garages with higher, lower or sloped ceilings, where you might struggle to fit a traditional garage door opener. Coming with nearly every add-on accessory that Chamberlain Merlin have to offer, the MJ3800MYQ improves on the older MJ3800 & MJ3800EVO in every way.
The included E960M remote controls features a rolling code encryption called Security+ 2.0, which generates a new code each time the button is pressed from over trillions of possibilities. By transmitting across three frequencies, the E970M all but eliminates interference problems, meaning your garage door will open with every press of the button. Due to the remotes high security, only your garage door remotes will ever open your gate or door preventing code grabbing devices from ‘replaying’ the code to open your garage door.
