Connectivity is concise and purposeful. Two XLR combo inputs handle mic/line duties with 48 V available, while a dedicated front Hi-Z jack welcomes DI bass or guitar. Balanced monitor outputs feed your mains, and the front-panel headphone out manages private cue mixes. Need more channels for drums or a live room spill? The optical input adds up to eight ADAT channels at 44.1/48 kHz (SMUX at higher rates) from an external preamp, so the Twin X Duo grows when the session does. Thunderbolt keeps round-trip latency low and supports multi-Apollo setups when you move beyond a single interface.
Control stays immediate. A large encoder governs monitor level with quick access to mute, dim, and mono, and per-channel gain with metering makes headroom adjustments obvious. UA’s Console software builds near-zero-latency cue mixes, recalls routings, and lets you commit through 1176s, LA-2As, API Vision, or tape on the way in—or monitor processed and print clean if you prefer to decide later.
